Lexington Legends 50/50 raffle raised $3,642.62 for 40 charities

Will return in 2017

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 10, 2016) — The Lexington Legends 50/50 raffle at home games in 2016 raised $3,642.62 for 40 charitable organizations.

The raffle, which was launched in 2016 and will return in 2017, allows fans to purchase tickets for $5 through the first seven innings of each game. In the eighth inning, a winning ticket is drawn, and the fan holding that ticket receives 50 percent of the proceeds. The remainder goes to the Legends Charitable Fund.

“The Community Organization of the Night is one of our favorite programs, as it educates fans about all the wonderful non-profit organizations that work diligently to give back to our community,” saidSarah Bosso, Legends vice president of Business Development. “The 50/50 raffle is a great added component for fans to show their support for these non-profits and also have the chance to leave the ballpark with some unexpected spending money. It’s a win-win, and we’re excited to be able to offer this fundraising opportunity again for the 2017 season.”
