Moment of Majesty sells for $850,000 at Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale

Sold during fourth session

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2016) — Moment of Majesty, a 9-year-old stakes-winning daughter of Saint Liam in foal to Curlin, sold for $850,000 to Star Guitar Inc. early during today’s fourth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Hip917KLD43Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent, consigned Moment of Majesty, out of the A.P. Indy mare Lady Indy. Her second dam is champion Fiji (GB).

James B. Keogh said he bought the mare for Evelyn Benoit, owner of Louisiana-bred star racehorse Star Guitar. Star Guitar is at stud in Louisiana.

“She said to just buy the mare,” Keogh said. “She is a huge Curlin fan. She has mares in foal to Curlin and so that was a bonus. I loved Fiji. (Moment of Majesty has) a wonderful old family. It’s just one of those classy old pedigrees that has been around forever and a lot of people have done very well by that. I was a big fan of St. Liam, thought he died way to young. This mare has a lot of race class.”

“She stood out on the page,” John G. Sikura of Hill ‘n’ Dale said about Moment of Majesty. “She was a very good race mare and the Curlin cover really helped. It was a great sale and I hope they have much success with the mare.”
