The state’s criminal justice system continues to outspend most other areas of state government. Experts will discuss what can be done in terms of cost-savings corrections reforms at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s annual 2017 Legislative Preview Conference on Dec. 19 in Lexington.
The panel of officials will detail what they expect to see from a criminal justice reform discussion and what kind of legislation will be proposed and debated during the 2017 session of the General Assembly.
A justice reform council assembled by Gov. Matt Bevin, which includes Kentucky Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dave Adkisson, has been meeting for months to hear from experts and come up with suggested reforms to present to legislators before the 2017 session.
