Southern Indiana construction and demolition projects approved

Approved by River Ridge Development Authority

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (Dec. 20, 2016) — The River Ridge Development Authority has announced its first round of projects for 2017 in the 6,000-acre park.

The board of directors approved and awarded the following construction and demolition projects:

River Ridge Commerce Center gateway lift station and force main

This project consists of furnishing and installing a one million gallon per day wastewater pump station and construction of approximately 3,700 feet of parallel 12 inch and 18 inch force mains. The lift station and force main will be sized to serve the entire RRCC gateway site, and with the addition of new pumps and controls, the infrastructure will be sized to serve the potential RRCC mega-site in the future. The contract for construction was awarded to Lykins Contracting with a bid price of $2,647,765.00.

River Ridge Commerce Center gateway utility extensions

This project consists of installation of 4,500 linear feet of new 12-inch water main and appurtenances, 4,500 linear feet of new 6-inch utility conduits, and 4,500 linear feet of a bank of three 6-inch utility conduits. These utility extensions will provide the ability for new developments in the RRCC gateway area to be served by water, electric and communication providers. The contract for construction was awarded to Richardson Contracting, Inc. with a bid price of $284,957.00.

Above ground storage tank salvage and demolition project

This project entails salvage and demolition of approximately 49 above ground storage tanks located on the northern portion of the RRDA property. Estimated cost of this project is $170,000 and the contract for construction was awarded to Wooldridge Construction. This effort follows the initial major demolition project earlier this year that totaled over $1.5 million dollars. These two projects will clean up the view-shed from Hwy. 62 and pave the way for future development in that area.

The River Ridge Commerce Center gateway phase III construction contract

In the ongoing efforts to prepare properties for development RRDA has elected to move forward with the RRCC gateway phase III construction contract with MAC Construction totaling $4,749,999. The work includes landscape plantings, lake littoral zone plantings, asphalt trails, rock walls, water features, water pump systems, an amphitheater, an island pedestrian bridge, soil preparation, irrigation and well construction for the gateway lake area. The improvements will provide much needed amenities and infrastructure for the companies at the River Ridge Commerce Center.
