Gov. Bevin makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 8, 2017) — Gov. Matt Bevin has made appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions.

Appointments:

  • Brian Patrick O’Rear has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. O’Rear, of Louisville, is self-employed. O’Rear will serve for a term expiring Sept. 23, 2019. He will be representing citizens at-large.
  • Jeffrey T. Smith has been appointed to the Kentucky State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Smith, of Monticello, is a chiropractor at Smith Chiropractic, PSC. Dr. Smith will serve for a term expiring March 29, 2019.

Appointed to the Statewide Independent Living Council:

  • Joe L. Cowan, of Monticello, is an instructional specialist and disability coordinator for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. Cowan will serve for a term expiring May 20, 2019.
  • Amy Elaine Dougherty, of Lexington, is an attorney at Bluegrass Elderlaw, PLLC. Dougherty will serve for a term expiring May 20, 2019. She will be representing advocates of and for individuals with disabilities.
  • Keith W. McCane, of Wallingford, is self-employed. McCane will serve for a term expiring May 20, 2019. He will be representing advocates of and for individuals with disabilities.
  • Jan E. Day, of Louisville, is executive director of the Center for Accessible Living. Day will serve for a term expiring May 20, 2019. She will be representing directors of a center for independent living.
  • Jennifer D. Johnson, of Kirksey, is an independent living specialist at the Center for Accessible Living. Johnson will serve for a term expiring May 20, 2019. She will be representing advocates of and for individuals with disabilities.
