Scholarships open to incoming freshmen
OWENSBORO, Ky. (Feb. 28, 2017) — Brescia University has named Kendal Connor head coach of the newly added competitive cheer and dance team.
Connor is a graduate of Trinity High School in Whitesville. She holds an associate of arts degree from Owensboro Community and Technical College and has been the assistant dance coach at Daviess County High School since 2012.
During her six years with Daviess County High School, they have won numerous competitions, including five regional grand championships and placed in the top 10 at NDA Nationals for five years. Most recently, she helped lead the Pantherettes to a state title at the 2017 State Dance Competition. The team will compete at the national level in March.
The competitive cheer and dance team was announced earlier this year as an addition to the host of athletic programs offered by Brescia University. The program, beginning in the fall, will be one of only two programs in the commonwealth at independent institutions to offer scholarships to incoming freshmen.
The program will be co-ed and will involve students participating in competition, as well as, cheering at Brescia University athletic events.
Students interested in the program can contact Connor at [email protected] for more information.
