Kenton County receives $220,000 Community Development Block Grant

Funding to improve Transitions Grateful Life Center

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 1, 2017) – The Department for Local Government (DLG) approved funding for a $220,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the ongoing substance abuse and recovery programs at the Transitions Grateful Life Center in Erlanger.

The center first opened in 2009 and utilizes a program model that includes peer support, daily living skills training, job responsibilities, and challenges to practice sober living. The program currently assists up to 100 men at any given time.

“With an addiction epidemic affecting lives across the Commonwealth, organizations such as the Transitions Grateful Life Center are crucial to the successful recovery of those affected by substance abuse,” said Senator Chris McDaniel. “I know these funds will be well-utilized by the center, and I thank the organization for its positive impact on these men and their families in northern Kentucky.”

The CDBG program provides assistance to communities for use in revitalizing neighborhoods, expanding affordable housing and economic opportunities, providing infrastructure and/or improving community facilities and services.
