Circuit Judge appointed in Lexington

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 7, 2017) — Gov. Matt Bevin today appointed Thomas Travis, of Lexington, as Circuit Judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit, Division 8.

Travis earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Kentucky and is also a graduate of the UK College of Law. He was admitted to the practice of law in the commonwealth, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the eastern and western districts of Kentucky.

A member of the Lexington law firm of Ward, Hocker & Thornton, Travis has more than 29 years of experience as an attorney practicing primarily in the circuit courts as a civil litigator.

Travis will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
