Free naloxone training sessions Wednesday in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 13, 2017) — Free naloxone training sessions will be held Wednesday at Our Lady of Peace in Louisville. The lifesaving medication, also known as Narcan, is used to reverse the effects of opiate overdose. The event is being presented by Our Lady of Peace, part of KentuckyOne Health, and the Kentucky Harm Reduction Coalition.

During the 20-minute session, each participant will learn how to recognize, respond to and reverse an opiate overdose. Following the training, participants will receive a free drug kit that contains Narcan.

Training is open for 50 participates in each of the following classes:

  • Session one: 2:30-2:50 p.m.
  • Session two: 3:10-3:30 p.m.
  • Session three: 3:50-4:10 p.m.
  • Session four: 4:20-4:40 p.m.
