UK, UofL women to host NCAA Tournament games this week

Lexington also hosts Sweet 16, Elite 8

imgres-3LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 14, 2017) — The NCAA announced Monday night that the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville women’s basketball teams will host first and second round tournament games. Times for the games have now been set.

UofL earned the No. 4 seed in the Oklahoma City region. The Cardinals host No. 13 seed Chattanooga at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center. Also on Saturday, No. 5 seed Tennessee plays No. 12 seed Dayton at 4 p.m. The winners advance to the second round, which also will be played at the KFC Yum! Center.

UK earned the No. 4 seed in the Lexington region. The Wildcats host No. 13 seed Belmont at noon on Friday at Memorial Coliseum. Also that day, No. 5 seed Ohio State plays No. 12 seed Western Kentucky at 2:30 p.m. Winners advance to the next round, which also will be played at Memorial Coliseum.

Lexington also hosts the Sweet 16 and Elite 8.
