Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine ranked 7th nationally for rural medicine

(March 20, 2017) — The University of Pikeville-Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) is ranked seventh among the top medical schools in rural medicine, rising in the rankings for all medical schools in the nation, both D.O. and M.D., in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 edition of Best Graduate Schools.

KYCOM also ranked 12th in family medicine and second in the percentage of graduates who enter primary care residencies. KYCOM was the highest ranked D.O. medical school in rural medicine and family medicine.

“We’re very pleased to once again be ranked so highly in areas central to our mission,” said Boyd R. Buser, D.O., dean of KYCOM and vice president for health affairs at the University of Pikeville.
