Gov. Bevin makes appointments to boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 21, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Jetona Kay Milby and Dr. Charles Shawn Oak have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Marriage and Family Therapists.

Jetona Kay Milby, of Campbellsville, is a marriage and family therapist. Milby shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2021.

Dr. Charles Shawn Oak, of Louisville, is a marriage and family therapist. Oak shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Marriage and Family Therapists consists of seven gubernatorial appointees. The Board regulates marriage and family therapist licenses and ensures that all licensed marriage and family therapists in Kentucky practice within the state’s code of conduct for practicing therapy.

Dr. Sandra Robbin Shuffett and Lorrie Anne Parker have been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Women.

Dr. Sandra Robbin Shuffett, of Nicholasville, is a physician. Shuffett shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 17, 2021.

Lorrie Anne Parker, of Lexington, is office manager at the Office of the Governor. Parker shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 17, 2021.

The Kentucky Commission on Women is dedicated to elevating the status of women and girls in the Commonwealth, empowering them to overcome barriers to equity, and expanding opportunities to achieve their fullest potential. The Commission is mandated to promote, encourage and provide advisory assistance in the establishment of local volunteer community improvement programs for, and in the interest of, women. It also consults with the governor on important women’s issues.
