LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 22, 2017) — The University of Kentucky’s MBA program at the Gatton College of Business and Economics has updated its GMAT/GRE waiver policy to take into consideration professional work experience, managerial accomplishments and/or additional leadership trainings and certifications.
Professional work experience, along with academic achievement, has long been recognized as a strong indicator for success in the MBA program. The new waiver policy will impact working professionals, managers and leaders pursuing UK’s professional MBA options, which include the Professional MBA and the new Professional MBA For Leaders in Healthcare.
“We believe this new GMAT/GRE waiver policy will greatly benefit working professionals with proven leadership and managerial experience,” said Harvie Wilkinson, director of the Gatton MBA programs. “For candidates who have been out of school for a long time and have gained valuable work experience, we hope that this will reduce a potential barrier to entry into our MBA program. While test scores often can be an indicator of future success, real-world work experience is an important asset which seasoned business professionals bring to the table when applying to MBA programs. We want to recognize that.”
UK’s Professional MBA program is now accepting applications for the fall 2017 semester (classes begin in August 2017). The application deadline for the Professional MBA and the Professional MBA For Leaders in Healthcare program is July 1, 2017.
