Applications being accepted for Vogt Awards for start-ups

Application deadline May 31

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (April 5, 2017) — Applications are being accepted for the 2017 Vogt Awards. The awards help early-stage start-up companies in Louisville, surrounding Kentucky counties and Southern Indiana by providing non-dilutive funding, dedicated mentorship, workshops and support. The application deadline is May 31.

The program provides mentorship and support services to up to six early-stage entrepreneurs. Each winner will receive $25,000 in non-dilutive funding and an additional package of valuable services for early-stage entrepreneurs. In the past, applicants were required to manufacture a physical product to be eligible. Now, entrepreneurs from the Greater Louisville area that have the potential to create a scalable business based on innovative, technology-based products are also included in the program.

The Vogt Invention and Innovation Fund, founded by Henry Vogt Hueser and an endowment at the Community Foundation of Louisville, helps support entrepreneurial efforts of engineers and innovators to fund the product development and commercialization of their ideas.

Winners will be selected in August. The 10-week mentoring and support program will occur during the fall. The full roster of partners and mentors will be released at a later date.

The Vogt Awards program culminates with Vogt Demo Day in November. Each winner is given the opportunity to showcase their business to the entrepreneurial community and share the progress they made thanks to the Vogt Awards program.
