Owensboro’s Malcolm Bryant Corp. names new president

OWENSBORO (April 17, 2017) – Madison Silvert, President and CEO of Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corp., has been named the new president of The Malcolm Bryant Corp., Malcolm Bryant, CEO and President of The Malcolm Bryant Corporation, announced Monday.

Bryant, who co-owns the company with his wife, Sally, will remain as CEO.

Silvert has been with the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corp. since 2007, serving as executive vice president and interim president before being named the President/CEO in October 2013.

“Madison Silvert has a passion for greatness that is a perfect match with us,” said Bryant. “We love his curiosity, compassion, work ethic and most importantly that people matter most. And for all of us, the most important ingredient is that he loves the Owensboro region.”

“The Malcolm Bryant Corporation has long been a tremendous example of corporate leadership and citizenship in Owensboro,” said Silvert. “I’m proud to have the opportunity to continue the ‘people first’ culture that has been built with the company’s employees, partners, and customers.”

During his tenure with the EDC, Silvert helped secure the site location of Alorica to downtown Owensboro, which became the largest single jobs announcement in the community’s history. He developed the region’s entrepreneurship strategy, including the Centre for Business and Research, which is owned by The Malcolm Bryant Corporation.  In 2015, Silvert was named one of the 40 Under 40 most outstanding economic development executives in the world by Development Counselors International.

Bryant added: “Our company has had a wonderful partnership with economic development in our community and now Madison can continue that partnership.  We are excited about the possibilities that Madison brings to the company and taking us to an even higher level.”

An Owensboro native, Silvert is a 1994 graduate of Daviess County High School, a 1998 graduate of Centre College with a BA in Economics, and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law in 2001. He served as general counsel for the Owensboro Metropolitan Planning Commission from 2005-2013; was director of the Owensboro Innovation Center from 2007-2014, and has served as an Adjunct Professor at Kentucky Wesleyan College, Brescia University and Owensboro Community and Technical College.

Silvert also adds significant global experience, having worked for Butcher Burns Solicitors in London, England, and building business connections and partnerships over the last several years in England, Germany, China, and Japan.

“With the many and varied successes Madison has already earned during his career, it is clear that he is an entrepreneur at heart,” said Sally Bryant. “I look forward, as does our entire team, to following his lead on taking The Malcolm Bryant Corporation to new heights of excellence.”

In his new responsibilities, which will begin in June, Bryant said Silvert will “lead the company in fulfilling its vision for genius products and services for its customers and communities while cultivating enterprising team members.”

The Malcolm Bryant Corporation is a leader in providing full-service real estate development and property management in Kentucky, Indiana and the Southeast. They own and manage over 900,000-s.f. of commercial office and light industrial space in 14 different communities, as well as  residential units and three Hampton Inns (two in Owensboro and one in Louisville). In 2014, Malcolm Bryant played an integral part in developing Owensboro’s growing, thriving downtown space, building the Hampton Inn & Suites Waterfront.

The company has been recognized by state and local entities, and was honored in 2016 with the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce “Business of the Year” for companies with 51+ employees. Over 110 people currently comprise The Malcolm Bryant Corporation team.
