The case study challenged student teams to develop a model architecture for a national network that would support the secure movement of personal health record information amongst medical service providers as directed by individual record holders.

The MSU team consisted of Kenneth Jessee, Prathyusha Chowdary Recherla, Susheel Valtoori, Wesley Morefield and William Hudson. All team members have graduated from the TSM master’s of science program.

MSU was a finalist along with James Madison University, Ball State University and Ohio University. MSU has been a finalist 11 times and won the national competition five times, more than any other school.

ITERA was formed in 2005 to encourage and support telecommunications science and network with professors, educators and researchers.
