10 high school teams will compete for $80,000 in scholarships and prizes

Lt. Gov. Hampton to host the Entrepreneurship Challenge

FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 27, 2017) – Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton will host the 2017 Lt. Governor’s Entrepreneurship Challenge Finals at the University of Kentucky on Saturday, April 29. Ten high school entrepreneur teams from across the Commonwealth will compete for a share of $80,000 in scholarships and other prizes.

The following counties have teams competing in the LGEC Finals: Trigg, Daviess, Taylor, Jefferson, Pulaski, Fayette, Kenton, Wolfe, and Harlan.

The student teams will pitch their business ideas to a judging panel comprised of five notable individuals from Kentucky’s business community, including Koleman Karleski, Phoebe Wood, Purna Veer, Mark Erwin, and Carey Smith. The emcee of the LGEC Finals is Alli Truttman.
