Gold for Blue Heron Vodka
DANVILLE, Ky. (April 27, 2017) — Wilderness Trail Distillery’s bourbon-influenced Blue Heron Vodka earned a gold medal and its Harvest Rum a bronze medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This year’s competition included 2,100 entries.
Blue Heron Vodka, which has won three gold medals, features unfiltered smoothness resulting from a multiple distillation process and sweet triple-grain mash bill of corn, wheat and malted barley. After distillation, limestone-filtered spring water is added to bring the proof from 190 to 80.
Harvest Rum offers a unique sweetness and smoothness from the Kentucky grown and harvested sorghum molasses. After years of aging in fresh emptied bourbon barrels the rum is 90 proof.
