Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Judicial Nominating Commission

Four appointments named

FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 28, 2017) — Gov. Matt Bevin has appointments to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 14th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky.

Appointed:

  • Theodore R. Kuster, of Paris, is retired. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018.
  • Kim Harpole, of Georgetown, is a paraprofessional at the Scott County Board of Education. She will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2020.
  • Dr. Stuart E. Brown II, of Versailles, is an equine veterinarian. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2020.

Reappointed:

  • Francis Richard Hamilton, of Georgetown, is an engineer. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2018.

The 14th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky encompasses Bourbon, Scott and Woodford counties. The Judicial Nominating Commission consists of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (serving as chair), two members from the Kentucky Bar Association, and four gubernatorial appointees who are not members of the Kentucky Bar Association (equally representing the two major political parties). Members cannot hold any other public office or any office in a political party or organization.
