Two-hour training is part of Foundation’s “Health for a Change” series

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 4, 2017) — The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky is offering a workshop to help nonprofit organizations work effectively with the media to improve news coverage of their efforts. The workshop will be 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 at Green River Area Development District offices, 300 Gradd Way in Owensboro, Ky.

Just 50 seats are available for the “Working with the Media” workshop, and registration is required. Register here. Nonprofit leaders and communicators at every level are welcome.

The free workshop will focus on creating and communicating messages, getting the most out of media interviews, and writing an effective news release. It is part of the Foundation’s “Health for a Change” training series, designed to help prepare nonprofit leaders across the Commonwealth for the work on pressing health policy issues.

The Foundation’s director of communications, Bonnie J. Hackbarth, will facilitate the workshop, which will focus on news releases and media interviews. Hackbarth has more than 30 years of media relations experience in the federal government, agency and nonprofit public relations. She has been with the Foundation since April 2016.
