LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 15, 2017) — Marcie Timmerman has been named executive director of Mental Health America of Kentucky, the commonwealth’s longest serving mental health organization.

Timmerman holds a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Kentucky. Her most recent background includes social media communications for Kentucky Equal Justice Center and the #InsureKY coalition.

She has also served as board president and outreach coordinator for NAMI Lexington, Lexington manager of NAMIWalks, as well as owning and operating Timmerman Consulting — a local marketing and social media startup. She continues to be champion of Participation Station and remains on the KYSTARS Advisory Board.

Timmerman replaces Bonnie Cook, who is leaving to pursue opportunities in the mental health community in Dallas.

Mental Health America of Kentucky is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 1951.
