KDA introduces ‘The Official Tasting Glass of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail’

Partnership with Ohio tableware company

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 18, 2017) — The Kentucky Distillers’ Association (KDA) has partnered with Toledo, Ohio-based glass tableware company Libbey to design “The Official Tasting Glass of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.”

KBT-tasting-glass-300x124Master distillers, bourbon barons and other members of KDA worked with Libbey during an in-depth one-year process to design a glass that meets the needs of the ever-growing market for the Kentucky Bourbon Trail tour and its Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour.

The KBT logo is subtlety etched onto the glass’s base. The glass also features a heavy sham, curved bowl, an ideally sized opening and fine rim, and is stackable to reduce storage space. The combination of these elements creates a glass that delivers a multi-sensory, smooth bourbon tasting experience.

KDA recently announced that tourists made a record 1 million visits to its Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Kentucky Bourbon Trail Craft Tour distilleries in 2016. The thriving attraction has increased attendance by 300 percent in the last 10 years.

Participating distilleries are: Angel’s Envy in Louisville; Bulleit’s Stitzel-Weller Distillery, Louisville; Four Roses, Lawrenceburg and Cox’s Creek; Heaven Hill, Bardstown and its Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, Louisville; Jim Beam, Clermont and Louisville; Maker’s Mark, Loretto; Town Branch, Lexington; Wild Turkey, Lawrenceburg; and Woodford Reserve, Versailles.
