FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 26, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
Tina Gail Jackson, Debra Bauder, Karen Coulter, Tishana Terry-Ann Wokocha, Duke Petit and David Wayne Dennis have been appointed to the KATS Network Advisory Council. Nathan Patrick Bolton, Jennifer Hicks and Rickey Lee Boggess have been reappointed.
Tina Gail Jackson, of Louisa, is a community builder. Jackson will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. She shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2019.
Debra Bauder, of Louisville, is an associate professor at the University of Louisville. Bauder will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. She shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2019.
Karen Coulter, of Murray, is an assistant professor at Murray State University. Coulter will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. She shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2019.
Tishana Terry-Ann Wokocha, of Paducah, is an occupational therapist. Wokocha will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. She shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2020.
Duke Petit, of Lexington, is a disability accommodations consultant at the University of Kentucky. Petit will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. He shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2020.
David Wayne Dennis, of Lawrenceburg, is an accountant. Dennis will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. He shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2020.
Nathan Patrick Bolton, of Bowling Green, is a motivational speaker. Bolton will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. He shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2019.
Jennifer Hicks, of Waddy, works at the Commonwealth Council for Developmental Disabilities. Hicks will represent other state agencies. She shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2019.
Rickey Lee Boggess, of Owensboro, is a retired teacher. Boggess will represent individuals with a disability who use assistive technology. He shall serve for a term expiring March 31, 2020.
The Kentucky Assistive Technology Service (KATS) Network Advisory Council, which consists of 15 gubernatorial appointees, along with the coordinating center staff, helps to implement statewide capacity building and advocacy initiatives regarding the availability of assistive technology for individuals with disabilities.
Sheila Marshall Currans, Susan Scott Steward, Dr. Ashima Gupta and Dr. Steven Compton have been appointed to the Advisory Council for Medical Assistance. Dr. Susie Jackson Riley and Gary Robert Marsh have been reappointed.
Sheila Marshall Currans, of Cynthiana, is a registered nurse and CEO of Harrison Memorial Hospital. Currans will represent women. She shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2020.
Susan Scott Steward, of Hazard, is system director of home services at Appalachian Regional Healthcare. Steward will represent the Kentucky Home Health Association. She shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2021.
Dr. Ashima Gupta, of Louisville, is a physician at Kumar Eye Institute. Gupta will represent the Kentucky Medical Association. She shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2021.
Dr. Steven Compton, of Franklin, is a physician at Compton & Compton Eye Care. Compton will represent the Kentucky Optometric Association. He shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2021.
Dr. Susie Jackson Riley, of Louisville, is a dentist. Riley will represent the Kentucky Dental Association. She shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2020.
Gary Robert Marsh, of LaGrange, is president and CEO of Masonic Homes of Kentucky. Marsh will represent the Kentucky Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. He shall serve for a term expiring April 15, 2020.
The Advisory Council for Medical Assistance consists of 18 members, 17 of which are gubernatorial appointees. The Council advises the Secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Commissioner for Medicaid Services on the administration and operation of the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program.
