VERSAILLES, Ky. (June 12, 2017) — Life Adventure Center has hired Mark Shake as its new development director.

Shake, a Kentucky native, graduated from Transylvania University and is a 10-year U.S. Army reserve veteran. Most of Shake’s career has been in sales management in the communications field. He became acquainted with Life Adventure Center through his most recent position as vice president of development at the United Way of the Bluegrass. Shake is an avid fisherman and a retired Little League coach. He and his wife have four children.

The development director is a newly created position.

Life Adventure Center (LAC), a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 in Versailles, is a merger of The Cleveland Home (an orphanage established in 1875 in Versailles) and Life Adventure Camp (a contemporary wilderness camp) that is proud of its 140-plus years of service to those in need.

Nestled on 575 spectacular acres, LAC offers a unique opportunity for guests to experience the healing power of nature through retreats, camps and professionally guided, outdoor education adventures. LAC can transform lives by enhancing growth, improving communication, and building resiliency for both individuals and groups, (especially under-served youth).
