Retired from Jefferson Community College in 2015
PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (June 26, 2017) — Dr. Jay Box, president of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) announced today that Dr. Anthony Newberry will become interim president/CEO of Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC), effective July 1.
Newberry is a former president of two KCTCS colleges – Jefferson Community and Technical College and Ashland Community and Technical College.
He retired from Jefferson in 2015 after 13 years as president. He also served as chancellor of KCTCS and dean of academic affairs at Southeast Kentucky Community College. He has 39 years of community college leadership experience.
Newberry started his teaching career in 1976 at Jefferson Community College, where he taught history.
