‘Cargo Summit’ for local manufacturers will be Sept. 26 in Erlanger

ERLANGER, Ky. (Aug. 25, 2017) — The European American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati (EACC) and the Tri-State Logistics Council are organizing a “Cargo Summit” 1:30-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Receptions Conference Center in Erlanger, Ky. to help local manufacturers expand productivity, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction by better utilizing the region’s transportation network.

Ms. Brandy Christian, president and CEO of the Port of New Orleans, will present the keynote address underscoring the profound connections between manufacturing and logistics, and demonstrating how more efficient transportation methods can fuel the continued growth of manufacturing.

Her presentation will be followed by a panel discussion (moderated by Brian Jaynes, Chair of the Supply Chain Management program at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College) where representatives of air, rail, road, and waterborne transportation companies will offer solutions to logistics issues presented by a diverse mix of local manufacturers. There will also be time for questions and answers from the audience, followed by a networking reception.

“We promote our location as a magnet for manufacturing investment,” said Daniel Ricciardi, President and CEO of the Tri-State Logistics Council. “This event will help manufacturers better exploit the air, rail, road and water transportation networks connecting the Cincinnati Tri-State region to the world.”

The Foreign Trade Zones of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky is the Presenting Sponsor for the event, which is being organized in cooperation with the Cincinnati Chapter of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

The cost to attend the event is $60 per person; members of the EACC, Tri-State Logistics Council, Central Ohio River Businesses Association (CORBA), OKI Regional Council of Governments, and the CSCMP receive a discounted rate.
