Consolidated Electrical Contractors & Engineers is one of the Southeast’s strongest electrical contractors with over 30 years of experience in design/build and construction. Proformance Group is a multi-industry, multi-process electrical automation expertise business, with over 40 years of experience working in the electrical & instrumentation design and construction field.

With this acquisition, Amteck gains a polished team plus a network of experts with proven experience already located throughout the southeast. The addition also includes CECE’s professional contacts and expands Amteck’s reach throughout the region.

“To meet market demands, we aimed for a stronger presence in the southeast,” Daren Turner chief executive officer said. “It only made sense to add CECE to the Amteck family due to our positive pre-existing professional relationship with the company, their upstanding reputation in the construction world, and its strategic placement.”

CECE has held an office in southern Alabama since 1983: building strong working relationships with a list of general contractors and owners. The company’s work involves a variety of electrical construction projects, including: United States military training facilities; federal prisons; industrial mineral processing plants; condos over 20 floors; amphitheaters and entertainment facilities; recreation centers and water parks; medical center additions and an array of design build and service contracts.

“We are extremely proud to be a part of the Amteck family. Their work and reputation have always been exemplary especially in safety, quality and customer satisfaction,” President of CECE Terry L. Wallace said. “With Amteck’s resources and our strategic placement, we both stand to prosper.”

The inclusion of PGI’s talent and experienced network of personnel extends Amtecks’ capabilities and expertise into the electric intricacies of the automation process sector. With PGI on board, Amteck can immediately begin working on client’s most complex process systems including: automation controls, control paneling fabrication, system integration, and a wide variety of automation process systems.

“We are thrilled to add PGI to the Amteck family, bringing another area of expertise on board, allowing us to grow into a higher level of sophistication within the industry. Plus, with process in-house, it puts us in a position to better serve our clients,” Amteck’s Chief Executive Officer Daren Turner said.

Over the years, PGI has built a diversified process portfolio working in several different industries which include: pharmaceutical and biotech corporations; food and beverage production companies; automotive and major players in the oil and gas sectors; as well as other large multinational industrial companies.

Rod Smith, founder/CEO of PGI, is a professional engineer with a Master’s of Science, Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. After attaining his degree, Smith worked seven years building new manufacturing automation process systems from start to finish, and in 1974 he decided to begin his own company, PGI.

“I am extremely proud to be a part of a company with a solid reputation like Amteck,” Smith said. “We emphasize quality, customer satisfaction, and the safety of our employees and consider it an honor to be a part of a company with the same core values.”
