Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin today made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Anna Brabec Church and Judith Magder have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Art Therapists.

  • Anna Brabec Church, of Louisville, is an art therapist. She will represent the Kentucky Art Therapy Association and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Judith Magder, of Louisville, is an expressive therapist. She will represent the Kentucky Art Therapy Association and serve for a term expiring July 15, 2021.

The Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Art Therapists is charged with regulating and controlling the licensing and conduct of certified art therapists.

Natalie Ann Brown and Kevin Michael Trees have been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Prosthetics, Orthotics and Pedorthics.

  • Natalie Ann Brown, of Louisville, is a certified prosthetist and orthotist. She will represent licensed orthotists and prosthetists and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2019.
  • Kevin Michael Trees, of Mt. Washington, is a Louisville Metro Police Department sergeant. He will represent consumers and serve for a term expiring July 1, 2020.

The Kentucky Board of Prosthetics, Orthotics and Pedorthics regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics.

Dr. Todd Jordan Purkiss has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers.

  • Dr. Todd Jordan Purkiss, of Prospect, is an ophthalmologist. He will represent medical physicians and serve for a term expiring June 30, 2018.

The Kentucky Board of Ophthalmic Dispensers examines and licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of ophthalmic dispensing. The Board recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality, conducts formal hearings when necessary and prosecutes by due process any violators of KRS Chapter 326.

Dr. Keith Wellington Myrick has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Podiatry.

  • Dr. Keith Wellington Myrick, of Louisville, is a physician. He will represent the Kentucky Podiatry Association and serve for a term expiring August 22, 2018.

The Kentucky Board of Podiatry regulates and controls the licensing and conduct of podiatrists within the Commonwealth.
