Gov. Bevin makes two Jefferson County judicial appointments

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 5, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin today made two state judicial appointments for Jefferson County. Derwin Webb, of Louisville, has been appointed Circuit Judge for Kentucky’s 30th Judicial Circuit, Family Division 10. Andre Bergeron, of Louisville, has been appointed District Judge for Kentucky’s 30th Judicial District, Division 9.

Webb has practiced law for two decades in the Greater Louisville area, including stints with the public defender’s offices of Clark and Floyd counties (Indiana). He is a graduate of the University of Louisville and the UofL Brandeis School of Law.

Bergeron has served as a prosecutor in the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office since 2008, following several years as a Legal Aid attorney. He is a graduate of Centre College and earned his master’s degree from the University of Louisville and his law degree from the UofL Brandeis School of Law.

Both judges will serve until their respective positions are filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
