ARC reports ticket sale decrease during September

ARLINGTON, Va. (Oct. 13, 2017) – Airlines Reporting Corp. reported today that the average U.S. roundtrip ticket price for Sept. 2017 was $467, up from $456 in August. Average Sept. 2017 ticket prices are down 1.2 percent compared to September 2016.

The consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies decreased 1.3 percent in Sept. as compared to Sept. 2016, totaling $7 billion vs. $7.1 billion. The number of passenger trips settled by ARC for U.S. travel agencies also decreased 1.2 percent to 21,492,539 compared to 21,753,323 in September 2016.

Electronic Miscellaneous Document sales in September 2017 comprised almost $5.3 million, a nearly 8 percent decrease over September 2016. EMD transactions also decreased approximately 16 percent to 90,355 in September 2017 vs. 107,344 in 2016.
