Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

Rebecca Lynn Brady, Anthony James Cowherd, Mary Bach, Charles Boyd II, Billy Glenn Turpin, Mark Reding, Samuel Moore, Marc Brian Ashby and Sharon Furches have been appointed to the State Board of Agriculture.

• Rebecca Lynn Brady, of Lexington, is a partner at Kentuckiana Farms. She will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Anthony James Cowherd, of Campbellsville, is a dairy farmer and salesman. He will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Mary E. Bach, of Owingsville, is a farmer and retired teacher. She will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Charles Boyd II, of Mays Lick, is a farmer. He will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Billy Glenn Turpin, of Richmond, is a farmer. He will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Mark Reding, of Howardstown, is a farmer. He will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Samuel E. Moore, of Morgantown, is a farmer. He will represent members at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Marc Brian Ashby, of Pembroke, is vice president of operations at Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. He will represent members at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.
• Sharon Furches, of Murray, is a farmer. She will represent members at-large and serve for a term expiring August 1, 2020.

The State Board of Agriculture considers the general agricultural, horticultural and forestry interests of the state, and takes necessary steps for carrying out the purpose of the Board. 

Rep. John M. Carney has been appointed to the Southern Regional Education Board. 

• Rep. John M. Carney, of Elkhorn, is an educator and state legislator. He will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2021.

The Southern Regional Education Board is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that helps government and education leaders in its 16 member states work together to advance education and improve the social and economic life of the region. The SREB is America’s first interstate compact for education. Member states include: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

Tomcheck have been appointed to the Advisory Council on Autism Spectrum Disorders. 

• Donavon Burton, of Somerset, is a pastor. He will represent the Commonwealth Council for Developmental Disabilities and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2018.
• Lori Gresham, of Frankfort, is an RN program manager. She will represent the Department for Medicaid Services and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2020.
• Michelle Anderson, of Frankfort, is an assistant director with the Department for Community Based Services. She will represent the Department for Community Based Services and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2020.
• Rebecca Roberts Cabe, of Lexington is a vocational rehabilitation program manager. She will represent the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2020.
• Dr. Kathy Sheppard-Jones, of Nicholasville, is a training director and adjunct professor at the University of Kentucky. She will represent the University of Kentucky Human Development Institute and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2020.
• Dr. Gregory Neal Barnes, of Louisville, is a neurologist with the University of Louisville Autism Center. He will represent the University of Louisville Autism Center and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Bennett G. Boggs, of Lexington, is a division director with the Education Professional Standards Board. He will represent the Education Professional Standards Board and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Sherri Brothers, of Lawrenceburg, is interim executive director for Arc of Kentucky. She will represent Arc of Kentucky and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Amy Cooper-Puckett, of Frankfort, is a social worker. She will represent the Office of Autism and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Spenser K. Clark, of Alvaton, is an employee of Camp Courageous. He will represent consumer representatives who are adults with autism spectrum diagnosis and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Dr. Mary Lloyd Moore, of Bowling Green, is executive director of Western Kentucky University’s Clinical Education Complex. She will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Myra Melton, of Georgetown, is a psychological associate with the Department of Juvenile Justice. She will represent the Department of Juvenile Justice and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Jeffrey F. Coles, of Lexington, is an exceptional children consultant with the Kentucky Department of Education. He will represent the Department of Education and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Brittany Granville, of Georgetown, is an illustrator with Civitas Media. She will represent consumer representatives who are adults with autism spectrum diagnosis and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Dana Emmitt-Hall, of Park City, is CEO of Blessings Unleashed. She will represent citizens-at-large and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Jonathan Talmadge Curry, of Frankfort, is a program administrator with Public Health. He will represent the Department for Public Health and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2020.
• Paula Elizabeth Goff, of Lexington, is a program coordinator at the University of Kentucky. She will represent the First Steps Program and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2020.
• Lucy Maura Heskins, of Louisville, is an attorney with Kentucky Protection & Advocacy. She will represent the Department of Public Advocacy and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2020.
• Dr. Jonathan Campbell, of Lexington, is a professor and program chair at the University of Kentucky. He will represent the Center for Autism Spectrum Evaluation, Service and Research and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.
• Dr. Scott D. Tomcheck, of Louisville, is an occupational therapist with the University of Louisville’s Weisskopf Child Evaluation Center. He will represent the Weisskopf Child Evaluation Center and serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2021.

The Advisory Council on Autism Spectrum Disorders unifies and promotes initiatives aimed at improving Kentucky’s system of care for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families.
