UPIKE alum to speak at business lecture series

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 13, 2017) – UPIKE alumni J.C. Hensley will be the featured speaker for the University of Pikeville’s Coleman College of Business Speakers and Leadership Series. He will present “Tips for a Career in Financial Planning and Wealth Management.” The event is set for Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. in Booth Auditorium.

Hensley began his Edward Jones career in 2004 as a financial advisor in Pikeville, his hometown. He graduated from the University of Pikeville with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance and obtained the AAMS® designation. The College for Financial Planning awards the AAMS® designation to individuals who successfully complete a 12-module professional education program, pass a final examination, commit to its code of ethics and agree to pursue continuing education.

Edward Jones named Hensley a limited partner with the firm in 2010. He has also served in the role of field trainer and mentor in helping train new financial advisors. Hensley was ranked second in the entire firm in production for a single month two times during his career.

Hensley is an active member of the community and serves in the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of First Baptist Church for more than 25 years. Hensley and his wife, Brooke, live in Pikeville with their two dogs and enjoy serving their community.
