KY Fame hosts employer recruitment forum Nov. 30 in Henderson

HENDERSON, Ky. (Nov. 28, 2017) — The Kyndle FAME Chapter of KY FAME, the Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education, is hosting an employer recruitment forum event 8-9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, with coffee and donuts at Gibbs Die Casting, 369 Community Drive in Henderson, Ky.

Please park in the front parking lot and enter meeting room from the side door entrance.

Kyndle FAME is based on the nationally noted Toyota Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program. Kyndle FAME is a five semester program at the Henderson Community College in the Industrial Maintenance Technology – Advanced Manufacturing Technician program. The students will go to school two days a week and work at a sponsoring company three days a week. This allows the student to receive hands on experience based on what they learn in the classroom and gives the employer the opportunity to train the student specific to their operations.

All interested employers are invited to attend this event. Current Kyndle FAME employer sponsors will be on hand to discuss the program, how helpful this program is for their company, and how one company is participating with an incumbent worker. Representatives from Henderson Community College will also be part of the panel discussion of classroom activity and the financial responsibility of the sponsoring company.

Students will receive an associate’s degree in Applied Sciences partnered with technical skills gained during their paid work experience. Company sponsors also have the opportunity to hire students into full time positions upon completion of the program. Students may decide to further their technical education to obtain a bachelor’s degree.

Current employer members of the Kyndle Chapter include: Air Hydro Power, Audubon Metals, Big Rivers Electric, Cresline Plastic Pipe, Gibbs Die Casting, Hydro Aluminum, International Paper, River View Coal and Vibrcoustic.
