FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 13, 2017) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:
Clark H. Defler, Venus Evans, Jordan Tyler Simpson and Valerie J. Thompson have been appointed to the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission.
- Clark H. Defler, of Fisherville, is an education consultant. He will represent the public-at-large and serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2020.
- Venus Evans, of Corbin, is a student at Somerset Community & Technical College. She will represent the public-at-large and serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2020.
- Jordan Tyler Simpson, of Stanford, is a registered nurse at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He will represent the public-at-large and serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2021.
- Valerie J. Thompson, of Eubank, is a professional genealogist. She will represent the public-at-large and serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2021.
The Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission was established in 1996 to recognize and promote Native American contributions and influence in the Commonwealth’s history and culture.
