All activities are included in general admission or membership. Kentucky Science Center will maintain regular operating hours, from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., with its full array of exhibits both days.

Favorite activities like building and launching a paper rocket and launching film canisters using alka seltzer will be set up alongside special Noon Year’s activities that will include using rockets to pop balloons, and “Rocket Bling” a design station that adds LED lights, helicopter blades, parachutes and more to your cardboard rocket design.

Each day also includes a science show that begins at 11:45 and counts down to noon, kicking off the new year for kids and families with a “massive” rocket launch in the Science Center lobby followed by performances from the new River Lotus Lions troupe. RiverCity Rocketry, UofL’s team of student rocket engineers, will be on hand with their own materials and displays too.
