FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 27, 2017) – Mike Harmon, Kentucky’s Auditor of Public Accounts, today announced the appointment of L. Christopher Hunt as the acting executive director of the Office of Technology and Special Audits. Hunt joined the auditor’s office in January 2017 as general counsel.

“Chris has been greatly involved in special examinations and projects that were released during this past year, including our Election Leave report and observations regarding the Louisville Arena Authority,” said Auditor Harmon. “He appreciates the importance of our role in identifying waste, fraud, and abuse, and improving the oversight of government services.”

The Office of Technology and Special Audits protects taxpayers by examining state and local government programs. Recent exams include the University of Louisville Foundation, Kentucky Horse Park, the City of Whitesburg, and the ongoing examination of the Administrative Office of the Courts.

Hunt will continue in his role as general counsel along with these new duties. A native of Ohio County, Hunt is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science, and received his Juris Doctor from UK as well. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies.
