LOUISVILLE, Ky. (January 17, 2018) – The Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) today selected Dan Mann as executive director of the LRAA effective in March 2018.

Mann is currently executive director of the Columbia, S.C. Metropolitan Airport. He will succeed C.T. “Skip” Miller who has led the LRAA since 2003 and is retiring in March.

“We are extremely pleased that an airport executive with Dan’s experience, vision and accomplishment will take on this important leadership role,” said Jim Welch, chairman of the LRAA Board of Directors.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to help lead and grow air service in a region anchored by such an exceptional city as Louisville,” said Mann. “I am committed to working with the Board and staff of the LRAA as well as the entire community to make Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Bowman Field (LOU), the finest in the nation.”

Mann has more than 25 years experience in airport management and air service development. At Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE), he led the airport to five consecutive years of passenger growth – a milestone that had not been reached in 40 years.

He also spearheaded a $58 million capital improvement program, which included various sustainability initiatives such as the development of a five-acre solar farm on the airport’s campus. In addition, Mann implemented a comprehensive Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) outreach initiative, leading to national recognition of the Columbia airport for its DBE Participation Program.
