LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 30, 2018) — After months of planning, Immanuel Baptist Church (IBC) is opening a new campus on Sunday, Feb. 4, on Armstrong Mill Road. IBC’s main campus will remain on Tates Creek Road.

Immanuel is partnering with the congregation at Victory Baptist Church to form IBC’s new branch campus, Immanuel Baptist at Armstrong Mill. Victory Baptist originally began as a church plant of Immanuel 25 years ago, but has struggled in recent years with resources and sustainability.

“Immanuel Baptist at Armstrong Mill will offer another venue for those seeking community, truth, and grace in their lives,” said Ron Edmondson, senior pastor of IBC. “Can we do church in a different way? A way which revitalizes congregations, restores buildings and grows the kingdom of God?”

According to Edmondson, IBC at Tates Creek has grown quickly over the past few years, giving the church an opportunity to pursue new ways to better serve the city.

“Rather than starting another campus from scratch, we began to explore the idea of restarting existing churches,” said Edmondson. “When Victory Baptist first contacted us, we just knew God had to be in this.”

Edmondson plans to teach live at both campuses.

Immanuel Baptist Church at Armstrong Mill will be holding its main service at 10 a.m. on Sundays and is located at 2261 Armstrong Mill Road.
