LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 8, 2018) – On Feb. 28, 2018, internationally renowned architect Jeanne Gang will present a public talk as part of the University of Kentucky College of Design’s spring lecture series.

The founding principal of Studio Gang, an architecture and urban design practice with offices in Chicago, New York and San Francisco, Gang is recognized for a design approach that foregrounds relationships between people and their environment. A MacArthur Fellow, she was named the 2016 Architect of the Year by the Architectural Review, honored with the Louis I. Kahn Memorial Award in 2017, and recently appointed Professor in Practice at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

The recipient of this year’s UK College of Design Brown-Forman Visiting Chair Endowment, Gang and members of Studio Gang are leading Studio Louisville, a College of Design satellite studio that is engaging members of the Portland neighborhood of West Louisville to explore how architecture and urban design reflect and foster community identity, health and resiliency.

Gang’s lecture will highlight Studio Gang’s interdisciplinary process and award-winning work such as the Arcus Center for Social Justice Leadership at Kalamazoo College and Aqua Tower in downtown Chicago. Located at the Louisville Central Community Center, it will run from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
