FLORENCE, Ky. (Feb. 20, 2018) Steve Brunson, senior vice president of business development at Forcht Bank in Northern Kentucky, has been elected to serve as chairman of the board for Gateway Community & Technical College Foundation.

Brunson has been involved with the Gateway Foundation since 2009, previously serving as the Foundation board treasurer.

“My fellow board members are successful and respected professionals within their respective fields, to have them place their trust in me for this important mission is very humbling,” said Brunson.

The Foundation’s mission is to advance Gateway through fundraising and friend-raising. The Foundation was created in 2003 when the college reconstituted a dormant foundation that was associated with one of the vocational campuses prior to the creation of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). Brunson hopes to increase enrollment and graduation rates and enhance high school engagement efforts during his role as chairman.

Brunson has over 26 years of banking experience in a variety of roles, and is an active member of the Northern Kentucky community with such groups as the Covington Business Council, Northern Kentucky Home Builders Association, and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

He was born and raised in Northern Kentucky, where he resides with his wife, Dr. Kelly Brunson; and three children: Clair, Paige and David. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.
