LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 23, 2018) — In partnership with the Community Foundation of Louisville, 1804 has announced the selection of Raechele Gray as the inaugural Vogt Innovator.

Known to many in Louisville’s creative community as the voice of the podcast “NextGen Lifestyle,” where she talks with leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who are making a difference through their life and work in Louisville, Gray is passionate about strengthening Louisville’s entrepreneurship community.

“We were so impressed by the quality of candidates who applied for this role,” said Liz Alkire, senior program officer of the Community Foundation of Louisville. “We’re excited about 1804’s vision for entrepreneurship in Louisville, and were inspired by Raechele’s passion for and work in this community. We were especially impressed by Raechele’s interest in creating inclusive opportunities for women and minorities to pursue entrepreneurship.”

Announced to the community at 1804’s Startup Grind event on Feb. 22, Gray will begin a part-time, one-year role with 1804 in which she will spend their time supporting 1804 initiatives and advancing her own entrepreneurial ambitions. The Vogt Innovation & Invention Fund at the Community Foundation of Louisville is providing a one-year stipend.

1804 looks forward to welcoming Gray to the team.

Brit Fitzpatrick of 1804 says, “Broadening Louisville’s entrepreneurship community is core to 1804’s focus. We’re grateful to the Community Foundation of Louisville for presenting this fellowship model to 1804 and for its ongoing commitment to supporting the growth of our region’s early-stage companies. As the Vogt Innovator, Raechele will catalyze impact within Louisville’s entrepreneur community with a specific focus on underrepresented entrepreneurs. She brings a wealth of knowledge, fresh ideas, and a genuine passion for this position, and we look forward to working with her to increase the reach of 1804’s programming and services throughout the city.”
