MURRAY, Ky. — Dr. Abdulrahman Yarali, professor of telecommunications systems management at Murray State University, is the author of the recently published book “IoT: Platforms, Connectivity, Applications and Services,” distributed by Nova Science Publishers. The book discusses the Internet of Things (IoT), specifically the new trends and critical issues surrounding IoT.

The 16-chapter book highlights many subjects relating to IoT, including business value, privacy and healthcare. It provides a detailed description of IoT and how IoT can improve and enhance various industries. The book also explains many challenges that are associated with IoT, such as security, data sharing and data privacy. “IoT: Platforms, Connectivity, Applications and Services” is the third book published by Nova Science Publishers with Yarali’s contribution.

“Telecommunications is conceivably the heart and the hub of the Internet of Things,” Yarali said. “There will be new areas of research and study, new jobs and new skills required in this field in order to achieve and realize the next levels of economic impacts of this fourth industrial revolution.”

Yarali has served as a participant and leader for workshops and conferences on the integration of teaching and research, focusing on wireless communications and small satellites. He has led research teams and presented his research findings in Asia, the Middle East, Australia and Europe.

The book intends to be used by graduate and senior undergraduate students majoring in telecommunications and computer science fields, along with network managers and engineers in the workforce. The book is now available for purchase at novapublishers.com.

The telecommunications systems management program is the award-winning Program of Distinction at Murray State University. The program was designed to focus on the information systems infrastructure in the rapidly growing technology industry, providing students a solid foundation in information systems technologies and the application of those technologies in a business environment.
