LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 29, 2018) – Greater Louisville Inc. added eight new members to the GLI Board of Directors. These business leaders were officially voted into their positions on March 29, 2018.
The four new voting directors are:
Theresa Canaday, Department Chair of Litigation at Frost Brown Todd, has a wide-range of experience in litigating business dispute cases in federal and state courts around the country, as well as prosecuting and defending complex business matters. Prior to joining the firm she worked as an associate with Mayer, Brown & Platt in Chicago, Illinois.
Gerard Colman, CEO of Baptist Health, has been involved in healthcare for over 25 years with wide-ranging experience in operations, finance, information technology, and physician engagement. Colman joined Baptist Health in December 2017, after a four-year tenure as COO of Aurora Health Care System, Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest private employer and healthcare system. Prior to joining Aurora, Colman worked for a decade at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, rising to Senior Vice President and Chief of Clinical Operations.
Nick D’Andrea, Vice President of Public Affairs at UPS, is responsible for public policy that affects all UPS entities in Kentucky, including UPS Airlines and Worldport, as well as Delaware, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. He joined UPS in 2013, bringing a wealth of experience in government relations and public affairs to his role. He previously served as Assistant Director of Governmental Affairs for the University of Louisville, where he helped formulate the legislative agenda for the University. He also worked as Director of Government Affairs for the state’s Passport Health Plan.
Sam Scales, Manager of Government Affairs at Ford Motor Company, previously served as the Director of Coalitions and Member Services on the House Committee on Natural Resources in Washington, D.C. Scales also served as Associate Managing Director in the government affairs practice at Dentons, the world’s largest law firm. Prior to that, he was an intern for Senator Mitch McConnell. He was also drafted to play professional soccer for Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer.
Additionally, four non-voting, representative directors were selected:
Retired Brigadier General James Iacocca, President and CEO at the Knox Regional Development Alliance, is the former Adjutant General of the U.S. Army, a position he held at Fort Knox. Ret. Brigadier General Iacocca’s Army career included multiple assignments at Fort Knox. He leads an organization focusing on three economic development priorities: advocating for new missions and retaining missions at Fort Knox; attracting and retaining defense-related businesses; and developing more public-public and public-private partnerships.
President David James, President of the Louisville Metro Council, is a native of Louisville who is dedicated to community service, public safety, and public service. In 2017, he was elected to serve as President of the Metro Council. He has served his two terms as Majority Leader, a position that elevated him to President Pro Tem of the Metro Council and the Chair of the 17 member Democratic Caucus. As President, he is the Chair of Metro Council’s Committee of the Whole and Committee on Committees. President James previously served as a Louisville Police Officer, and his experience in law enforcement and public safety extends beyond his previous career.
Dan Mann, Executive Director at Louisville Regional Airport Authority, works to make Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Bowman Field (LOU) “the finest in the nation.” Mann previously served as the Executive Director of the Columbia, S.C. Metropolitan Airport, leading a $58 million capital improvement plan that included the development of a five-acre solar farm and overseeing five consecutive years of passenger growth. He is an Ohio native, U.S. Air Force veteran, and licensed pilot. He brings more than 25 years of airport management and air service development experience to Louisville.
Tammy York Day, President and CEO of Louisville Healthcare CEO Council, previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Delta Dental of Kentucky Inc. The recently formed Louisville Healthcare CEO Council focuses on making Louisville the aging care innovation capital of the world. York Day contributes her entrepreneurial mindset to the Council, working to develop strategies and working toward goals for the organization. York Day is also the Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Unbridled Eve Foundation, which hosts the Unbridled Eve Gala.
