Louisville Regional Airport Authority names new director of purchasing and procurement

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 30, 2018) – Dan Mann, executive director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, announced that Curtis Monroe has been hired, effective Monday, March 12, to fill the position of director of Purchasing and Procurement.

Monroe will direct all aspects of the Purchasing and Procurement Department, including goods and services contracting, materials management, central receiving as well as inventory control.

“Curtis’ 30-plus years in the industry, most recently as the assistant director of Contract Administration and Procurement Services at the University of Louisville will be an asset to the organization,” said Mann. “We are glad to have him join the Airport Authority team.”

While at UofL, Monroe managed more than $300 million annually in contracts and spending that included Capital and Renovation Projects such as athletic venues, and academic and research facilities. Prior to his time at UofL, he also held a variety of positions with the University of Kentucky’s Department of Purchasing.

Monroe was named the 2015 Mentor of the Year by the National Association of Educational Purchasers and is past president of the local Kentucky Chapter.

Monroe is certified through the National Institute of Governmental Purchases as a Certified Professional Public Buyer. Monroe also has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Kentucky
