Assistance for USDA broadband grant applications to be held April 12 in Somerset

SOMERSET, Ky. (April 9, 2018) – A workshop on e-Connectivity will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 12 at Center for Rural Development in Somerset.

USDA representatives will be onsite to assist with two broadband grant programs open for application Spring 2018 and with more money available than ever before. Learn how to compete for these programs by hearing from those who have been successful in the past and by talking directly to USDA Rural Utilities Service.

Community Connect Grants focus on truly underserved communities that have less than 10 megabits down and 1 megabits up in broadband speeds. Learn how to determine if your community qualifies and other requirements for this up to 3 million dollars in grants.

Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grants focus on expanding telemedicine or distance learning technology. This year priority will be given to telemedicine applications that address the opioid epidemic and to distance learning that advances STEM Education.

The workshop is being sponsored by the Kentucky Innovation Network in London.
