Meyer elected president of Kentucky Society of CPAs

William G. Meyer III was elected president of the Kentucky Society of CPAs.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 7, 2012)— William G. Meyer III was recognized as president of the Kentucky Society of CPAs (KyCPA)at its Annual Convention and Members Meeting at Belterra Casino Resort on June 19. He officially began his duties July 1.

Meyer has been a partner in the Louisville firm Strothman & Company for the past 16 years. He is a 1977 graduate of Shelby County High School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Louisville. His designations, in addition to CPA, include Certified Valuation Analyst and Accredited in Business Valuation.

He is a longtime member of KyCPA and has served in a variety of leadership roles including: Executive Committee; Educational Foundation Trustee; chairs of the Firm Development and Administration Committee, Public Relations Committee and Small Business Committee; member of the Business Valuation and Litigation Task Force, Nominations and Awards Committee, and Accounting Career Awareness Committee. He also is a former officer and president of the Louisville chapter.

Meyer is also a council member of the American Institute of CPAs and is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and CPA Associates International, where he serves as the Government Services Committee chair.

He volunteers his time to the Family and Children’s Place’s board of directors as chair-elect, and the Agape Christian Ministries’ board of directors

He and his wife, Becky, reside in Louisville and have two sons.

The KyCPA president is a volunteer position elected by the Society’s general membership. The president serves one year, offering leadership and guidance, enforcing bylaws, presiding over the executive committee and working with the board of directors to govern the Society.
