DANVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 15, 2012) — Vicki A. Darnell, president and CEO of Ephraim McDowell Health, recently was elected to serve on the Kentucky Hospital Association (KHA) Board of Directors. Her two-year term as a Cumberland District Trustee began July 1.
The KHA board consists of 23 members who represent and serve Kentucky hospitals, related health care organizations, and integrated health care systems. Their primary focus in the near future will be the many changes both at the state (Medicaid) and federal (Medicare) level that KHA and all US hospitals are facing.
As the chief executive for one of Kentucky’s premier health care providers, Ms. Darnell has the perspective and understanding of the challenges hospitals face in today’s uncertain environment.
“Recognized nationally for her health care leadership, Vicki Darnell is going to be an influential partner as the Kentucky Hospital Association navigates through uncharted waters to ensure Kentuckians have the best health care available,” said Michael Rust, president of the Kentucky Hospital Association.
