Eastern Kentucky University has been awarded $220,000 by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board to further research on biofuel feedstock forages for livestock and biofuel production. The project will look at using biofuel feedstocks – primarily switchgrass – in algae-based biofuel production. The switchgrass and by-products from processing for biofuel will be evaluated for their nutritional content for use in ruminant feeds and supplements.
