Computer Services Corporation (CSC) has laid off 80 workers from its U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Records Digitization Facility in Williamsburg, which handles document scanning, physical and electronic records management, metadata capture and data transmission. Officials with the California-based company said the layoffs were due to a decrease in government funding for the facility’s projects. Prior to the layoffs, the facility – which opened in September 2006 as Datatrac Information Services Inc. and was later taken over by CSC – employed around 200 people. The layoffs are not expected to affect CSC locations in Barbourville and Corbin.
