Frontier Airlines announces new nonstop service to Austin

Louisville International Airport now offers service to 17 of the top 20 destinations travelers visit most

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 6, 2018) – Frontier Airlines has announced new nonstop service between Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Austin–Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Austin, Tx., beginning Monday, Aug. 13, 2018. Nonstop flights to Austin will be offered twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, using an Airbus A320.

“We are thrilled Frontier has announced a second nonstop route from Louisville,” said Dan Mann, executive director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “It is great news that Frontier is already expanding their service options—within a matter of weeks since beginning nonstop service to Denver. This new flight makes it easier for Austin residents to take advantage of great fares to Louisville and experience the area’s tourism, including the bourbon industry and all of the exciting attractions our city has to offer.”

“As our city and our economy grow, we’re actively pursuing more direct flights to key markets, and we’re thrilled to see Austin added to the list,” said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. “Like Louisville, Austin is a city of innovators and entrepreneurs, and we look forward to people being able to more easily travel between our two great communities.”

With this announcement, service is now available to a record 32 nonstop destinations from Louisville, including 17 of the top 20 destinations travelers visit most. • I want to see this list of Top 20 places that we have 17 covered with no stops… I travel for work several times a month and the flight situation from Louisville is dreadful — expensive and inconvenient! Holding the city back in a BIG way!
